Finally a bit of unveiling!

For those who frequent the forum, you will know that I managed to acquire one of the famous Hotpoint Liberators last year in the form of a model 1828/02.

The only issue with it was that the previous owners had painted the kickstrip a sickly shade of lght brown.
A couple of weekends ago, my dad rectified that situation with three coats of Peugeot Midnight Blue car paint - now looks like it did on release from the factory.
Has been powered up as well and should be tested fully over the coming months - hopefully!

The other machine is a 18580 Super Electronic De Luxe. I am the temporary owner of this machine, having bought and collected it on behalf of a mate to whom it should be delivered in the coming month or so.
Cant vouch for it operationally, but externally i can honestly say that it is one of the tidiest 18580's that I have ever seen!
Thats not to say that it doesnt have the odd bump or scrape, but they are all in the right places i.e places you dont normally see.
The drum bearings are solid and the main front panel only required the smallest amounts of paint touching up to reseal the metalwork and I mean the odd dab.
It cleaned up beautifully and, all in all, it is a very nice machine.

p.s the noise in the background, apart from the birds, is a twintub spinning in the kitchen.

  • can you do some videos of thease machines in acteion?

  • @thekylejohn1 .... not for the moment, I am afraid. The variable 18580 is now at its new home, whilst the purple one requires an outer tub repair. Nothings ever simple in vintage appliances!

  • Ha! Is that a Hoovermatic De-luxe I can hear in the background? Lol. Sudsreturn.

  • @jaredini ... yep! its a T5054 Hoovermatic de luxe.
