@Novelwit2000 You know what's funny, in Christopher Reeve's first biography, he said was the first choice to play Mark Harris, but when he had to be fitted for the green lenses and web hands he backed down. He said when he was told to get his feet wet in Hollywood this wasn't exactly what he had in mind! LOL. It worked out. Reeve for Superman, and Duffy for 'Man from Atlantis.' You're right, Duffy knew what he was doing, someone else would not look so smooth. I love Duffy's personality too.
Thanks fuzzyizzy for sharing this. I remember this show/interview. Man From Atlantis was a great show. And Patrick Duffy was probably the ONLY actor who could play this role. I mean look at him in this, he can REALLY talk underwater without bubbles. I think in a way, he really was superhuman. I mean, I don't think a lot of people could do this. And he has such a great personality too. I mean, it's like he doesn't even care that he has a great body. That's like besides the point. Thanks
It's funny...I remember seeing this when it first aired - I was 11 years old and a big fan of the show. I was just telling my friend about it...we were talking about Man from Atlantis, as I'd found the episodes online...lol. I remember this interview clearly. Thanks for posting it!

Prescisely. Everything is now CGI and a lot of substandard material gets hidden behind glossy special effects.

man, Patrick Duffy was friggin' hot! These days there aren't hot men like him anymore.... sexy without being overly muscled and cocky.
