  • try watering your hoya with diluted coffee to the strength of pale tea about once a month (in addition to your regular waterings). It worked for me! Blooms every year now for months. They bloom in the same spot each year so don't trim them unless you have to maintain their size.

  • That is so pretty! I've had one for years now, started from my grandma's. I've never been able to get it to bloom. I read somewhere that the vines have to be three feet long in order to bloom. Is that true in your experience? The vines on mine were getting quite long a few years back when my well meaning room mate gave it a hair cut because "it looked uneven." I went nuts. :-) Thanks for posting!

  • I feel so lucky, I have this plant and it just sprouted it's first bloom. I am thrilled that my greenthumb is working well this year. From my understanding this plant, waxed Hoya, is difficult to get to bloom. I was told the same thing about the "Mother-in-Laws Tongue" and I got that too bloom as well. Both plants display very unusual blooms / flowers.

  • @jofly17 About a week or two

  • Very cool. How long do the flowers last once if blooms?

  • wow brilliant :)

  • WOW! What a cool video. I just got my first flowering hoya for my birthday , I think it's a hoya Carnosa, & was blown away by how pretty & fragrant the flowers are. Thanks for making & sharing your video.

  • Lovely! I have one of these but can't get it to bloom regularly!

  • I agree yet I have the same Hoya in my house (Hoya Carnosa) in my bathroom to be exact... The window is frosted yet in the morning untill around 2pm it gets sunlight through the frosted window - we have a florescent light also which is on most of the day. The steam from the shower also helps keep the plant in a humid climate/environment. It blooms every few months.

So the lighting isnt too much of a big deal. It isnt a hybrid either as we have had it for 8-10 years.

  • Sweet! The flowers looked so cool blooming so fast!
