The Kettering Lean Initiative, is a not-for-profit organization loosely affiliated with our University.
It is dedicated to fostering the ideals of lean as well as the six-sigma business strategy enabling positive change in the business world by minimizing waste and maximizing value.
To this effect, we will focus on an area underserved, the development of future leaders in the workforce. To do this we will create a community of lean thinkers through professional development programs for students.
This program would not merely be a handout or subsidy to the student, but rather a collaborative effort in which senior members teach incoming members about principles and concepts learned at various seminars.
Finally, we would develop a undergraduate thesis certification program, for six sigma black and green belts, as well as lean initiatives in health care and other business fields. These programs would be benchmarked against some of the best, including U of Ms Japanese Technology Management Program. The skills developed in our programs would allow young professionals to gain the assets companies desire.
