Steam Locomotive in Carlsbad, CA ~ San Diego to LA

While walking at the Carlsbad Beach, we encountered lots of people at the Carlsbad Village Train Station. This was strange since the Coaster train does not run on Sundays. The people were very eager to share the fact that the "last of the steam engines" running from LA to San Diego had been through the area around 11 a.m. and was set to head back North to LA around 4:30 p.m. After waiting till 7:15 -- we finally were treated to the "old school steam locomotive" ~ with the white billows of steam pouring out the smokestack and the "Petticoat Junction" sounding whistle and bell!! What a treat for all who were in attendance ~ and so -- you too!! Set to "She'll be coming round the mountain" and of course, the natural sounds included for your enjoyment! For all those "little boys and girls" who can't get enough of those Old Trains---Enjoy!

it lloks d so good to see steam from LA to sandeago buut I do not see what they need the diesle even for a grade since the train didnot sseem to be that long unlees its for HEP but unlike nealy allss the steam trans that have run I never se it with anexeily tender for exrtra water Oh I could nevver ss why there has not been Preasure on the walt Disney Co to do smoething with raly steam for only Dieny steam I calll it really family orentented in the adults would be intrered allso

I didn't get a great shot of the dome -- 'cause I focused too much on the engine as the train approached. My best shot of the dome is at about 1:28 into this video (as the train moves away). If you want me to e-mail you a still shot of the best frame, let me know ...
