424. A la Claire Fontaine (Traditional French)

A very popular folk song, (as shown by the fact that my first upload of this video had 6538 views since it was posted last April) often considered to be a children's song. It is traditionally sung with the second line of each couplet becoming the first line of the next, though these days it is generally shortened by just singing each line once.

It is a sad story about a man who loses the woman he loved because he neglected to give her a bouquet of flowers.
