An all-new concept version of the next NSX will be unveiled (with Acura badges) at the Detroit show next January.
Honda is not yet going public on the specifics of the new car but it's now pretty certain that, as we revealed last year, the new super-coupe will get V6 hybrid power and four-wheel drive when it arrives in 2013.
Like the original NSX, the new car is expected to get a mid-mounted V6, coupled to Honda's new Electric Super Handling-All-Wheel-Drive system. It's also expected that the car will be driven by the rear wheels via its V6 and electric motor, but that the front wheels will get motive power from twin electric motors, one driving each wheel.
The whole shebang will also be mated to a 7-speed twin-clutch gearbox, a first for a Honda.
As for the visuals, concrete details are scarce, but expect a technical, futuristic look. All will be revealed at Detroit, no doubt...
p.s -The car is said to take advantage of a specially tuned version of the Japanese car manufacturer's SH-AWD (Super Handling - All-Wheel Drive) system.

when the fist nsx came out it was under powered compared to the cars it was built to go up against but it was a perfectly balanced car honda made the nsx with the right amount of power + the right weight + the right gear ratio + the right weight distribution + the right aero dynamics.... they are making a track car that is street worthy, not a balls out flimsy straight line drag car that cant turn a corner like the corvette or mustang...

I do agree with you when it comes to how good the original NSX is.
Gordon Murray choose the Honda as the benchmark of handling when developing the McLaren F1.
He even tried to get a V12 engine from Honda , but after being refused he choose the BMW. Gordon owns an NSX and the F1 has most of the obsessive engineering of the Honda , but just Faster.
Without a doubt , the Nsx is one of the best "Super Cars" ever made. I do insist into putting emphasis on !SUPER"..
