Radio is so bad now even Elton John sounds like he pull in some real ratings minus the celebrity part

Listened to CKLW on the AM Radio in my 1966 GTO...............In Cleveland 50,000 Watts!!

Back in the day we use to listen to CKLW at the Drive-In Theater in Bad Axe, Michigan. My dad's 72 Plymouth Fury only had an AM radio. So, we would party and if we didn't pay attention we would miss 800 AM CKLW fading out and 790 WLS Chicago fading in. Being that Chigaco was in the central time zone we would gain an hour of partying, get home an hour late, and get an a@@ chewing. What happened to those days? I guess Video did kill the radio star.

Man do I miss this station!!!! It was real music and great times times growing up. Could pull the station in Athens, Ohio!

I was from Rochester NY, CKLW was my station of choice after sundown...
At night, it always came in clear from 350 miles away!!!!!!!!!
PURE RADIO DYNAMITE!!!!!! our 1,000 watt local station in Rochester
WBBF used to copy them...Million dollar weekend, so on and so forth

My dad is always saying how the 70s were just a great time in terms of entertainment. Music was amazing and so was TV. I am so jealous. If I had a time machine one of the 1st places I would go would be the 70s and I would immediately turn on the radio to listen to some CKLW. I watched a documentary on this amazing station in class and I am so mad at the CRTC laws!
