@mrrk Beryl Marsden was and still is a star! Her name lives on in the lexicon of sixties' greats. Don't forget that there were a load of other great singers at that time. They couldn't all make it big. She wasn't just competing with Dusty, who was in a different niche anyway.
@neil03152 Lord knows where you will find Beryl Marsden's version, unless you locate a DVD of the documentary it was shown on. But the one played at The Cavern at the end of every show presented by Bob Wooler was by Bobby Darin. It is available on "Original Album Series: Bobby Darin" at £13.99 on Amazon. Only trouble, you need to like his stuff as it's a 5 CD set. Let me know if you find Beryl's version, would you?
mrrk's comment was right on the button about Dusty "Springbok"! But I heard this nice lady for the first time in a tv doc about the Cavern. I did enjoy hearing her sing the excellent closing number played there each night "I'll be There" - or something like that -. Anyone know where I can hear it? Oh and not the bleedin Michael Jackson crapola of the same title either.

ok found her number "I'll be There" by Gerry and the Pacemakers. Worth a listen but shame about quality.

when you hear Dusty Springfield sing this you know why Beryl Marsden had no chance of becoming a star.
