I've just discovered Stan Rogers, having been a huge folk music fan for many years, mostly irish, scottish etc. He was wonderful and this song in particular is magnificent. I know he also wrote a song "The Jeannie C" which has been covered by Oisin and at least another group that I can't remember. Not Canadian but, good on you, for Stan. Sort of reminds me a little of old Burl Ives, but Stan has a more powerful voice, and of course Burl Ives was a true tenor. Both were great singers.
