Daddy do what a daddy has to do.

Well I don't care what he do now.
He do what he has to, anyhow.
My daddy do what a daddy has to do.

Daddy said, "Get yo' butt over here!"
Yeah daddy said, "Get yo' butt over here!"
Well I didn't care what daddy say,
cuz I was goin' there anyway.
But daddy said, "Get yo' butt over here!"

Well daddy commenced to askin' mean,
what I did, he thinks he seen.
Well I won't lie. to myself I'd say,
"If he didn't see, I'd tell it my way."
So I did just that and he looked in my eye.
I knew right then my story didn't fly.
What I did was big trouble,
and what I said, it made it double.

Then daddy said,
"Don't commence to lyin' 'roun' here!"
Yeah daddy said,
"Don't commence to lyin' 'roun' here!"
Well I didn't care what daddy say,
cuz I was gon' lie anyway.
But daddy said,

Then daddy said, "Don't lie no mo'!"

Now I don't care what daddy say.
It don't pay to lie, anyway.
'Cause daddy said, "Don't lie no mo'!"

It was the best dang whuppin' I ever had.
I learned not to lie 'causa my dad.
I learned real quick, the bad, not to do.
If not quick enough, it was this I knew.....
The words and the beat was right in time.
A good enough reason didn't need no rhyme.
Now that I'm a daddy and I'm all grown,
those rhymes and reasons I carry on.
