  • @thedaoofthewarrior My knowledge of American politics isn't perfect, but I believe the Hyde amendment, which prevents taxpayer funds from funding abortions keeps the price of abortion itself high (through lack of subsidizing). If you can afford to pay out of pocket or get health insurance which covers it, then your ok. But for poor women who can't afford this, they are effectively left out of the cold.

  • Damn, Dan Pfeiffer is NOT ready for primetime

  • WAR ON WOMEN! that's such a lie!

  • @azbed129 Exactly. Women with money will always be able to go where abortion is safe and legal and pay for it. Poor women don't have that option. Pretty logical, pretty simple.

  • @Staticnz Conservatives keep wining because "progressives" keep eating their own (plus they outnumber 'em). she called it a "GOP war on women" ... if their vote or failure to vote only helps conservatives to gain more power doesnt that put them on the wrong side of the war? The White House isnt going to get "progressive" legislation through a conservative Congress. "Obamacare" looks the way it does because it had to get through a conservative Senate that would have never taken on the issue.

  • Right off the bat this asshat does what this admin has been doing from the very beginning. "it the Republicans fault'

I'm surprised he didn't blame Bush while he's was at it.

  • This White House is not cut out to represent progressives. I frankly don't care if progressives don't vote for them. There's not much of a reason to. Just to avoid republicans winning is not enough anymore. You have to be what you say you are, otherwise what is the point of this whole game.

  • can someone explain to me with a sound logical argument how the hyde amendment punishes poor women?
