  • That doesn't really make sense though, does it? Each doublestrand divides into two, so the number of guys should grow from 1 to 2 to 4 to 8 to 16 and so on...

  • Is it sad that I basically had this same image in my head before you replied? It would be a little boring until anaphase though...

    yes and no

    not all the cells replicate at the same time

    for example in the intestine ... the cells on the top don't replicate because they will die very fast but the cells on the bottom replicate very fast ... and there is a migration from the bottom to the top due to the cell divisions

  • Lol. I might have to, it'd be easier than explaining... Just imagine people in spandex pretending to be the node things of a chromosome (4 for a pair, 2 as they split and head towards their respective nuclei). :D
