Undocumented and Awkward: Episode 6

"In the Asian Pacific Islander (API) community, it is very challenging to come out as an undocumented immigrant. Many times, even our own immediate family members perpetuate the "shame" of being undocumented by keeping us silent and in the shadows. This may even go to the extent where our own cousins won't know about our immigration status. In general, topics like immigration are to be avoided by any means necessary.

As a result, ASPIRE (Asian Students Promoting Immigrant Rights through Education) was created in order to create a safe space for API Dreamers to share our stories.

As undocumented immigrants, we often encounter awkward situations where we find ourselves making elaborate excuses in order to avoid talking about our immigration status. In this video, an everyday situation where a group of friends just hanging out turns AWKWARD when the topic of traveling abroad gets brought up."

Dudes great concept...needs more improvement though on the acting (not to be mean or anything I love this video..). Just try to be yourself and be comfy in front of the cam. If you can try to get a cam stabilizer to minimize camera shake. Other than that this youtube concept will go viral. AWKWARD videos are hilarious you guys should follow through on that. Good Luck!!!

@paulc1939 Immigrants, like any other group, will always have some group seeking to abuse or curtail their rights. Secondly, to want to remove whatever few rights illegal aliens have for being illegal is unconscionable, wishing them less may be fair (even convicted criminals have rights). Lastly, I don't know what culpability children should suffer over the decisions of their parents to have them enter the country undocumented, but I'm sure it cannot be the same as those unborn.

What a big heaping, stinking pile of bull crap. Immigrants have rights and no one is trying to abuse those rights. Illegal aliens have few rights and many of us are trying very hard remove most of those rights. Over 80% of American voters oppose in-state tuition for illegal aliens, and s similar number opposed birthright citizenship for the kids born to illegal alien mothers unless the father is a US citizen or legal immigrant (green card holder). Go back to your native country!
