  • What is the american version? They all speak together and God love the accent but it covers up what they say...

  • @RileyUSMC05 Tarrytown, I have aversion somewhere by the Brothers Four.

  • I ended the search for this song as an album version out of desperation, just could not find it. Someone any advice? :(

  • @stinkbegaaier Recorded Live In Ireland (1965) it's a track on there.

  • This is probably my favourite song sung by Tommy Makem. What an incomparable voice, what amazing lyrics. This brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it. Very appropriate to listen to it today of all days, when I just learned that Liam Clancy died. RIP Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. You are the best!

  • @stinkbegaaier There's also a version that Tommy Makem does by himself, it's on the record "Songs of Tommy Makem".

  • @RileyUSMC05 What you on about? I understood em just fine.

  • 5 dislikes!!? what? they must not hear well...

  • @phylfritz1 Actually, I was discharged for losing too much of my hearing. No worries, I found out.

  • @RileyUSMC05 You better have your hearing checked. I can understand every word and it is beautiful! There r many versions of this song tho.

  • wow amazing...found this song after Bardofcornwall sung it :)...wants to learn this if i can find it somewhere

  • Lovely voice. Just gorgeous rendition. What I adore about the old Irish folk tunes is that men and women freely sing them whether they're written in the female or male voice. The power of song.

  • @RileyUSMC05 It was also recorded by Buell Kazee in the '20s with the same title.

  • Love the old grate Irish music.

  • Beautiful..
