@CRoadwarrior You mean the ancient text which has been edited several times by power hungry men for their own purposes? And I suppose you never wear clothing of different materials at the same time and have never eaten shrimp or other shellfish?
This roadwarrior dweeb thinks he knows all there is to know about ancient Hebrew (which he does not) and about the ancient world. Of course the Bible (mainly the Old Testament) has some creepy things in it that were recorded and far too many are misunderstood and taken completely out of context. No wonder there is so much insanity and toxicity in so many Christian sects.
@Serai3 The point is not what I or anyone thinks. It's what is SAID in the ancient text itself. Does the text say WHY they chose virgins or are you speculating? Are there any other passages that can shed light on the issue? I know there are, but then again I didn't bring up the issue. Denying the obvious? LOL. No, how about denying speculative claims that have nothing to do with the "obvious." I don't need luck. I have accurate knowledge based on thorough study.
@CRoadwarrior Ignoring the point, eh? Please explain just WHAT you think they did with all those virgin girls. The story says they were directed to keep them "for your use". Why would they need to be virgins?
But hey, whatever. You just want to keep denying the obvious over and over again. Good luck with the real world, Sparky. YOu'll need it.
The Old Testament has many beautiful stories and history; however it also has several passages that are very disturbing and unlike what Christ taught. I can understand why the Marcionite Christians felt that much of the Old Testament was inspired by a lesser "dumb" god. That's because they had problems with several of the passages that many people are disturbed by.

@Rockymtntruth Since I study Hebrew myself on the graduate level, I do not need to ask a "Jewish Rabbi." Thank you very much.

@CRoadwarrior Go ask the Jewish Rabbi's about this as opposed to trusting your anachronistic understanding of Hebrew.
