Yuttadhammo, I can see your point, but I believe that inaction in the face of other peoples' immorality can also be immoral, even though the act itself is not yours. Your response need not be equal to that of the perpetrator, but I would suggest that no attempt to curb the immoral act is irresponsible at least and immoral itself. I agree with you it's not moral to kill a hitler, but I believe there is an ethical responsibility to at least prevent further suffering, even if not at your own hand.
If you remove God from the Religions, then all you are left with is three ancient, bizarre and silly texts that no one would be familiar with. Theists are all about obedience to a fearsome God (or the clergy) in order to reep the rewards in the afterlife. This is why I don't consider Buddhism a religion, I see it as a practice, a psychology.
If morals and ethics can be considered a religion, then we are all religious, even the animal kingdom, as we all have a certain moral code we follow.
Thanks for sharing Yuttadhammo
Take care..

@jamesisaak777 No not Theravada monks. But I think some sects of Zen allow ordained monks to marry.

Religion can and will always be argumentative. But I think this religion is the least argumentative. For that I have respect.
PS Can monks marry?

Ethics don't come from religion.
