I'm officially convinced my phone has a "sound like a kid" plugin installed... :-\

This is the initial start up of my truck after installing Chrysler HO cams. You'll note on my air fuel mixture gauge that it starts off rich indicating first start :) I know this is nothing too interesting... but perhaps you enjoyed it anyway.

2003 dodge dakota 4x4.....aFe cold air intake(stage 2), magnaflow exhaust, custom SCT tuned (now needs retuning due to new cam) , 2008 intake, 70mm F&B throttle body, oversized tires (speedo calibrated), transgo transmission reprogramming kit aaannnddd.... HO cams heh

  • Where did you order the cams from? I'm starting the rebuild on my 2001 Dakota 4.7

  • @01GeorgiaDakota I got them from airramdotcom He gets them every now and then so just keep checking.

  • When you put in the 2008 intake did you have to switch the throttle body? Anything else did you need to change?

  • @rdvalla In order to put an '08 intake on the older 4.7 you need an adapter to put your throttle body on. I upgraded my throttle body (as seen) at the same time. I actually removed the intake a few months ago, and just yesterday I removed the new TB... I'm just kinda putting my time into my '73 bronco right now. Feel free to message me if you're interested in the parts. ;) Or would like more info.

  • What's with the whistling noise is that the TB spacer?

  • @oubobcats27 haha there is no TB spacer in there... The TB is a 70mm F&B throttle body. The increased air noise you are hearing though is from the aFe cold air intake(stage 2) since it has no baffling or anything the sound of the motor sucking air can definitely be heard (that's the huge tube coming from the TB down over to the front of the passenger side and the cone air filter sits right there.)

  • When you installed the 2008 intake did you have to change the throttle body? Anything else you have to change switching to the new intake?

  • did u get that afe cold air intake off of summit racing?

  • No, I did not have to remove the motor. Check out my reply to Honda250recon below and check out the forum I mention there are pictures and information there including a time line on how long it took. Good luck!

  • is it really necessary to remove the engine. because I was thinking of putting some big cams on my 05 ram 1500 4.7l. And did you need any special tools to do the job?
