Countrywide Protest 11-21-07

On the day before Thanksgiving, November 21st at 12pm, consumer, African American, Latino, and Asian American groups held an anti-foreclosure protest against Countrywide Financial and its CEO Angelo Mozilo.

Approximately 100 protesters gathered for the public demonstration.

It is estimated that Countrywide alone will foreclose on 5,000 homeowners in San Diego, and at least 50,000 statewide before Christmas of 2008.

There's fault on both sides, but if they really want to stop foreclosures why not lock the owners in at a fixed rate. The owners can continue paying knowing the payment won't increase, and the co. will get their money, and will still make a profit from the fixed interest rate.

Man, I'll never buy another home, I dont trust lenders no more, you'll need your down payment money to go to some lawyer in order to read what looks like the irs tax code.

Homeownership appears to be a delusional dream in the hands of predatory lenders. I got a mortgage and excellent credit but in honesty I simply just got "lucky" because I cant understand all that paperwork (being honest about my own lack of intelegence here) neither does my sister who works for a mortgage company lol
