Why is the 5th string down on the side of the neck instead of being at the headstock? Example of what I'm talking about is at around a minute into the video.

Five string banjos have a string that starts about halfway down the neck.

@ragtagbag Thanks for this great upload, Rag. I'm just moving over from guitar to banjo so my biggest restraint is learning new chord positions. Could you or somebody else map the fingers to the frets for those chords? (first finger on string x, fret y) I'm subscribing, definitely. After I get this down right, I'll move on to your other videos! Can't wait.
