the time it takes to get the combo bonus isn't worth it. remember that every second in the end is worth 1000 points.

I think it's because when you pick up the combo timer it stops the flow of enemies and they don't spawn as much until the bonus is done. I always loose a combo while in the bonus timer.

He doesn't get the combo bonuses because he might lose his combo while he is picking it up. It takes about 4 seconds to get the thing and he might not have enough time to keep his combo alive.

Is there any reason that you don't get any combo bonuses? Do they mess up your score in any way?
