You know me too well. She said they ripen off the plant if picked green... and one of them looked like they were.. She also leaves a long section of the stem attached.. that being said, I always encourage everyone to vine-ripen their fruits.. That being said, squash like cucumbers are curbits. and technically they CAN be ready whenever YOU want them to be.. in fact when I start growing edible gourds, you really HAVE to pick them young so you can eat them raw

A question came up on where theses Seminole pumpkins can be grown? Can they be grown in the northern United States or Canada?

Yes they can be grown anywhere that normal pumpkins grow. That being said, in your climate they may be an annual crop than perennial. (grow it when you plant your tomatoes) Trish did tell me that they did have some cold days here, and the vine survived but with excessive cold, It probably wont make it.. But I dont know for sure.. I plan on filming a video update next year after I grow them.

Posted 17 months ago but discovered by me today, You Tube might catch on soon even though it just celebrated it's 8th birthday this week. Back to my claiming rights, I claim the discovery of the Seminole Pumpkin in the name of beer drinkers from Bradenton Florida, long live the DRAFT BEER . Surrender your seeds and we will lay down our Drafts ( for a moment ), manifest destiny was so cool for the takers. Before a lucid moment happens, Thank You John

that may be helpful to us south floridians. I would love to know how to make the sandy ground that is most of our back yards ..for those that have back yards...how to get it to keep a plant alive. How long can we keep trees like lemon, lime, orange, peach, mango etc... in a pot before it needs to be put in the ground?

have a small request. Would you mind doing a video or mini series on just Florida Perennials? Maby Just go over the stuff that is native to here and grows prolifically. Alot of SoFloridians also live in very small spaces like apartments whith extremely small balconies or pattios. Maby some ideas on that and how to keep the plants from getting sun burned / eaten by the local wild life while on a balcony or pattio. What to do when we get HURRICAINS which we tend to get often. And any other thing

Hey john how are you? I am so glad when I see videos of you doing stuff in my neck of the tropics especially like in this video you where literally like minutes from my place : ) The PBG green market continues to grow and keeps getting bigger and bigger every time I pop in on the sundays that I can. West Palm has their green market on sat mornings so does Fort Pierce. I have to check out to see if and when the lake worth market operates. Down town lake ave (art district) is pretty cool too.
