Thank you for stopping in to see and hear a cover of the timeless blues classic "The Thrill is Gone" featuring my friend Al - http://www.youtube.com/user/Fletch2099 - on guitar. As a musician, Fletch tried to copy BB King's style but he felt he would like to add in his own interpretation as well, under King's influence. He freely admits his guitar is no "Lucille" but in my opinion, he has truly created a fine and classy piece of music here...

When he asked me to accompany his playing with my voice, I was "thrilled" to give it a shot. It's been a long time since I first saw BB King perform this song live in the late '60s, but it certainly earned a place in my heart ever since.

The other musicians (as named at the end of the video) were kind to offer a helping hand and they too did a fine job.

Thank you so much, Fletch, for allowing me to post a copy of this video on my channel, and for inviting me to this wonderful party of yours!

  • really good job on this great video

  • RICKY - thank you so much for stopping by and listening ... I appreciate it! Carol

  • B.B. King is certainly the greatest living ambassador of the blues. BB King never ceases to amaze me. He is well into his eighties, he has diabetes, and he still continues to perform hundreds of concerts a year. It's incredible....and so are the both of you doing this cover.

  • @GlimpseAfterGlimpse ~ Michael - Thanks tons for your sweet comment! Yes! BB is 84 now and I just went to see him in concert a couple week's ago and was SO honored to be asked by Al to take part in this collab... BB King truly recharges me. Last time I saw him was 42 years ago. I needed that!

  • Hey Hey Carol. You got that B.B. King blues. Great performance. You really sing the blues the right way. All the stars and more. David sent this one to me. Glad he did.

    Bill

  • @rainydog ~Bill - SO great to see you and hear from you, always, Mr. Sax Man. Thank you for coming by and enjoying this fun collab Al created ... I was honored to be asked to participate and we both appreciate the lovely comments you left! xCarol
