@PilotDongle That makes sense. Washing the rice is something I did because I was told to... but I prefer to understand things.. and when I didn't have an answer, thought I would find out. Also, I find the time washing the rice is relaxing... soothing really.

@HrafnNordhri I believe it's the starch you're washing off. Washing off rice gives it a better nice white color instead of that off white cream looking tinge of yellow.
