Here's the 75 gallon tank yet again, this time with some new fish and Decor! I added two small pieces of aquarium wood too the tank to provide more hiding spaces and a more "natural" look. I soaked the two pieces of wood for about a day in a large bucket of water because all wood like this releases tannins that discolor water and reduce PH levels. I soaked them to let most of the tannins be released in the bucket, rather than in the tank. But, the wood is always going to leech a certain amount of tannins into thw tank water, which is totally fine for the species of fish i have....which brings me to the new living additions to the tank...CATFISH, and lots of 'em. I added 6 Bronze Corydoras Catfish, and 4 Emerald Green Cory Cats(Brochis Splendens). The 6 Bronze Corydoras were sold to me as Brochis Splendens....i later realized that the tank was mislabeled and that i had purchased Bronze Corydoras. So i went to another fish store and got 4 actual Emerald Cory Cats(Brochis Splendens)...in this video, the Bronze Corydoras are the smaller ones, and the Brochis Splendens are the larger ones.

*now however, i've managed to once again make the tank rather overstocked...so I'll have to think of someway to fix that problem, but for now, this is the tank:
-3 firemouth cichlids
-1 blood parrot cichlid
-4 silver dollar tetras
-1 rainbow shark
-1 spotted raphael catfish
-6 bronze cory catfish (corydoras aeneus)
-4 emerald green cory catfish (brochis splendens...these aren't corydoras but very closely related)
-2 ivory mystery snails
-5 serpae tetras & 5 bloodfin tetras
-1 gold fin peacock cichlid

**the small yellow fish is a young African Gold Fin Peacock Cichlid...he came from my brothers African tank. So far he has been doing great, and although the PH is a bit lower than it would like, the PH is kept stable so unless the Peacock experiences any problems, he's staying in this tank.

***Don't be an impulsive buyer like me, and want every fish you see...it only causes huge overstocking problems...and now, once again, I'll have to remove fish from this tank....ughh will i ever learn...

  • incredibly clean tank.. awesome.. nice selection of fish..

  • @zednem2 thank you!

  • didnt the bigger cichlids ate the smaller corys??im afraid my firemouth will eat my old cory anyday..

  • @yomonstruo I never had any problems with these cichlids trying to eat any of the cory cats. Firemouths arent very carnivorous in nature and in the wild, the live things that they eat are worms and crustaceans, and they rarely eat other fish unless they are very small, such as fish fry, or newborn fish. I've never heard of a firemouth cichlid attacking and eating cory catfish...or any other fish really..they just dont seem to have that hunting instinct for fish like larger cichlids do.

  • nice fish, what filter do you have?

  • @icisco two Marineland Emperor 400's
