  • That's the first Nellie McKay song I've heard which I actually liked!

  • @thegreencat13 Not meaning to be a brown-noser, but I love virtually everything she's done ... one of my absolute favs .. Identity Theft

  • @subgerocallidus She felt it was important enough to mention it while doing a show .. all I did was add it to the title. I was buying her albums long before I knew about her sanity regarding this universe.

  • @Audgerie626 Not to put too fine a point on it, ... but religion(any brand) does not promote feminism or equalism ... unless of course, we now have a female pope, and I just haven't heard about it yet.

  • @unity100 you've done military service? who cares?!! who even asked if you were in the military? i always laugh at glory hounds like you, who were probably in the pathetic air guards, that expect people to be impressed that they wasted time being a slave to the military industrial complex. seriously, were you in the marines? special forces? infantry in the army? no, no, and no. you're a pussy, don't brag about it.

  • @UltraProle21 uuuuuuuuuuuuuuu baby. you convinced all of us .......... not. and im a male. and i have done military service ........ what have YOU done ? no no dont answer.

  • @msginca I don't have a need for God. Religion tells us to expect a reward if we do good and expect punishment for bad deeds. But would St. Peter look at you funny if you said "I've done all my good deeds-- where's my stuff?"

I do good because it's a good idea and avoid doing evil because it's a bad idea. No reward or punishment-- just common sense and helping others.

  • The song is actually called Mother of Pearl-- Nellie played it at the '08 TED conference. Nellie is one of my favorite singers outside the mainstream. :)

  • @thegreencat13 My background is in anthropology, ... I understand the need for god ... and I might add, *It is a Need*

People shouldn't be made to feel somehow "lesser" for this need. The asscociated behavior is the issue ... example, The pope can not and should not be protecting those who traumatize children. This list of unacceptable behavior goes on and on.

  • @msginca

Bahá'í is the one religion I've found which talks about equality for women; other than that, I'm inclined to agree with you. That's why I made up my own religion, called the Holy Church/Temple/Kiva of the Why-Can't-We-All-Just-Get-Along?

  • @Audgerie626

She/he confuse christian people with catolic people.

  • @subgerocallidus

Atheist propaganda? Some people just say they are atheist. With the the kind of hater psycho Christians out there, its going to be a more common answer to religon in the future. I just straight out tell people I am a recovered Christian. That's more provocative than atheism. I get people trying to save my soul then. I end up changing 'their' mind. A lot of Christians use the religon not follow it anyway, the rest are blantant psychos.

    Nellie is awesome.
