    No,the alphabet was pure Greek.Phoenicians (semite ones) had only consonants.Greeks had both consonants and vowels.The Greek civilization is the oldest (didn't start in 2000 BC as propaganda say).Crete was a 100% Greek civilization (Linears A & B are Greek).Mesopotamia is 100% Greek name (means "in the middle of 2 rivers").If you read ancient Greek authors (Plato "Timeo" or Diodorus the Sicilian "Historic Library" or Filostratos "Sophistes bios" or whoever else) you will see if i speak right.

    Actually the Greek alphabet comes from the Phoenicians...Sumer was the first recorded civilization, don't downplay it - I am part Greek and worship Greek culture/civilization, but Mesopotamia Sumer-Akkad-Assyria-Babylon are older than the earliest Greek cities, unless you count Crete, which was not "Greek" really
