I have a VW 2003 Jetta GLS and it has the same type of trunk problem and need your fix. But when I went to take out the screws...my manual latch is attached to that panel as well. I'm afraid that I won't be able to take it all the way off to do the fix. Any suggestions?

Last night, the trunk of my care stopped opening by remote entry. It's this exact problem with the broken plastic lever shown in this video. Some things should have simply been made of metal. Most Volkswagens in North America were made in Mexico. Do I need to say anything else?

We have a 2003 Jetta and this is exactly what happened to our trunk latch. We removed the trunk cover and found the plastic piece is broken. Will the part you have work on the 2003 Jetta and do you sell the part yourself or where can we purchase it?

I have taken one off with a manual latch. It isnt that hard you just need to remove screws around it and remove the linkage. I can post a video if people are having a problem with this.
