This is a great example of not appreciating what you have. As a child I rode all the Dayliners I think and just assumed they would always be a fixture on the Hudson. Now they're gone and there is precious-little left in the way of video or even still photos of them.
I never had the opportunity to travel on the last vessel of this unique fleet. However, when building a model of this vessel ALEXANDER HAMILTON, it awed me to witness how beautiful her lines were. Not just in building a replica of her, but also of the WASHINGTON IRVING, HENDRICK HUDSON (flagship), ROBERT FULTON and, of course, PETER STUYVESANT.
When building these models, now sold, I was awedt how each differed; yet distinct with the "Dayline" logo on their stacks. Wow.

If possible one should be placed on here about the Hudson River Day Line Steamer Alexander Hamilton since that is the last of the great Day Liners.
