DS Review: Big Bang Mini

Big Bang Mini is a decent shooter game that uses the touch screen and a couple of weird games. It's designed for the casual gamer, but has some parts that's harder than hard . It uses the upper and the touchscreen. You dodge with your stylus (dragging your ship/triangle) and shoot with your stylus (a flicking motion). It takes too much coordination with this; it's annoying, because it rewards accuracy. This means every time you miss a shot, you create shrapeal that you have to dodge.

Score: 6/10

I'm not a shooter player, and I stink at these games. There's a ton of stuff to unlock by finishing modes, but that's about it.

Never said I was anything but bad at shooters. It's an excellent game, but don't like the way it is presented and done with.

Hmm... I disagree that it's supposed to be 'casual'. I played the demo and it's more of a hardcore shooter with a next-gen twist. For gamers, being rewarded only for accuracy is a good thing as it supplies more of a challenge. And whilst it is very unique in it's art & design, I wouldn't say it's that 'wierd'. Still, you said shooters weren't your thing so fair enough. Thanks for the vid and footage as the prospect of extra unlockable modes on top of the main play is awesome. Can't wait.

Yeah, it's an okay game, but it's obviously not marketed to me. (I grew up on shooters with buttons....loved a lot of them, but I couldn't really get it in this game.)

The music and art design is pretty good.
