  • I don't have a GTE but I did buy a sun beat Arizona C-code Cougar and drove it across the country. Rust free and straight as an arrow but not a piece of vinyl to be saved. It looks like a desert car a mile away and I always get thumbs up here in the rust belt.

  • @1967mustanggta Post some pics or Vid when you can , it's nice to know that one more Cougar will prowl again in style.

  • Well, I was not able to buy a GT-E in 1968, but I was finally able to snag a Nordic Blue GT-E XR7 project car in earlier this year.

Cougman68, where could someone purchase the original copy of this ad video? You have posted the finest quality version on youtube to date, but I would like to have an even better original copy.

  • Glad to hear you picked up an E . Nordic Blue is a plus as well. As far as a better copy goes , you might have to try to locate an original clip somehow. This was compiled a few years back on the Classic Cougar Site .

  • @EerNearClemson I just uploaded a better copy of the specific GT-E ad .

  • Have the motor out of a GTE sitting in the basement right now. Dad's building it for his friend who has an original GTE in his garage restoring it.

  • The GTE was an amazing car. The styling & design were far more pleasing then the Mustang, some of the rarer 68's had the 427 Side Oiler. A highly dignified muscle car.

  • It looks nice I wish that they would of continued making them I remember them as very fast cars

  • I'll take it, and throw on a spoiler from an eliminator, just like my dad did with his 68' xr7

  • @EerNearClemson

Ok, well I wanna see this bad cat. Make a video.

  • It wouldn't make for a very entertaining video right now. The car is basically unassembled and I am just now ready to get the 427 cylinder block to the machine shop for some freshening up. I suppose a video of the machinist doing the "torque plate" honing procedure on the cly bores could be interesting.

  • @EerNearClemson

Could you make a video of your GT-E XR7???
