My Old Kentucky Home - Stephen Foster (Fingerstyle Guitar)

This is an easy and not especially interesting arrangement, but there aren't a lot of (any?) fingerstyle guitar instrumentals of it on Youtube. Since Mr. Foster is one of very few talented American song writers from the 1800's, I thought he should have some acknowledgement from the guitar world. I played a couple bars differently just to confuse the student guitarist. They hate that.

This arrangement is by Walter Jacobs and is published in a book written by David Nadal: "American Folk Songs for Guitar". The arrangement is probably public domain since Jacobs has been dead for over 75 years, but David has published it in his book, so I thought I should encourage interested parties to buy the book. As of this writing (01/02/2011) Amazon is selling it for under $6.00. More than reasonable for over 40 songs.

Ha-ha not only guitar students hate it to get confused with different bars in melodys they know also singers in a choir don´t like that. I know that phenomenon and it´s not easy to sing against it. Nice melody and arrangement!
