Three questions. First - how do I enable UPnP so that ports can be opened automatically? Second - how to reserve bandwidth to loopback, for example, for a Web server that I am running? Third - how do I access the terminal so I can install misc. server software, which I would also to have some reserved bandwidth?

hi For a college project at school, we have to make servers, and im planning on using clark connect. I was playing on hosting a online server for the game hl2 DM, to set it up on linux, u download a .bin file, then this is open, it i think download the update tool, which then run download the game files (for the server) , heres the url its says compatablie with red hat linux, but is clark connect a text based os , so is it possible to host hl2dm from clark connect , plaease reply , Thanks :D

I don't know for sure if it would run or not. Clark connect is based on Red hat, so I would assume you could make it work, but if you really want to be as close to red hat as possible, I would use fedora or CentOS.

yeah i tired feora, but it wasnt having it, is clark connect actual os just text based? or does it have a gui ? just cause of the security and packet filtering, its a good os to use, and espicaly then we need to make secure servers to get good marks :)

Clark Connect doesn't have a desktop manager like Gnome or KDE, but it does have a web GUI. If you want the closest thing to Red Hat you can get for free, it is Cent OS. Cent OS is closer to red hat than fedora, becuase fedora is like a cutting edge free version of Red Hat, and Cent OS is more like a copy of Red Hat.

I am not sure that UPnP can be enabled, I dont' use it. There are some ways to restrict banwidth, but I also don't use these. I would look under Software > Webproxy and Network > Port Forwarding. I do have a good answer on the third question though :), you can access a terminal via SSH to install more software.
