For our second meet, we had some grips and electrics around to get shots properly lit (with house lights as well) for separation. Caley demonstrates in his last upload the difference between having the cameras toed into a certain convergence point and shooting with the cameras parallel then later setting the convergence point in post. In this example, I used three different focal lengths with the cameras toed into a convergence point of 18'. I then changed the convergence point manually in post to demonstrate that it can be shifted to a certain extent even if you've already set a convergence point with the cameras by toeing them in.
At 18mm, the convergence point is 18 feet
At 35mm, the convergence point is shifted to 24 feet in post
At 55mm, the convergence point is shifted to 14' in post
Hope you can see the shift in the examples! As we move onto out next meet, we're trying to get closer to a larger scale idea which involves projection and precise placement of objects and convergence.
More to come.
