  • is the plinth at it's lowest? if it is not then it should be or until the patient's feet are flat on the ground. if patient's feet are not flat on the ground, the patient is not safe.

  • After all the abilities are tested than a doctor or nursing home, or even family, know if their loved one is at a higher risk for falling.

  • The Berg balance test is widely used in the medical profession to help determine when an elderly, or at risk person, is more susceptible to a fall. There are 14 separate categories, or abilities the person is test on. The final scores then determine if the person is able to walk without assistance or if they should be in a wheelchair. There are different scores which involve anything from how steady a person is sitting to bending and picking something up and then standing back up.
