The Liberty Island was east to spot this morning, right in front of the Enterprise Street Beach access at milepost 14. The beach was closed from4723 to 4809 S. Virginia Dare Trail, and it looked like they would be moving south soon.

HOWEVER, they have already landed a new submerged pipe south of the Outer Banks Pier, about milepost 19 or at 9125 Old Oregon Inlet Road. The Liberty Island is going to pump sand north toward the pier from that point, filling in the gap left when the Texas reached the limit of its pipeline. The latest word from the town is that the Liberty Island will work in this area for about a week, and return to Enterprise Street around next Thursday.

The Texas was pumping sand near milepost 20.5 this morning, right in front of Oriental Steet. The north fence is at North Altoona, about 10025 Old Oregon Inlet, and the south fence is at 10201 Sea Gull Street.
