  • greetings,

you say waitaha are from easter islands, and in songs of waitaha you say, " he kakano i ruia mai i Rangi Atea"

how do these things fit together? interesting you talk about the lack of food and water taken on waka maori. was this the same for all waka that voyaged to nz? or just uruao?

  • Sorry, can't see the 'fitting together' problem!

Yes, all Waitaha waka sailed that way.

    Barry

  • top of the day,

Rangi Atea and the easter islands are two diifferent places, seperated by some distance. I wanted to see if there is a connection between where the waitaha comes from and where other later waka came from.

your video is the second time i heard about the kutai being dragged behind waka, this informant also told me fresh water could be collected using these mussels.

    cheers :-)

    Cheers,

  • @nguha313

All the waka were Polynesian. Waitaha were Polynesians with a few other

fine threads woven into their culture. Waitaha waka also came from the same islands as the other waka.

  • Barry, Song of the Waitaha sounds amazing Im currently studying Blackfoot shamanism and Peruvian Inca shamanism and find the power of this healing amazing. I cant wait till your book arrives to Canada so I can learn about how great my country (New Zealand) is. Im proud to be a kiwi girl on a journey to bridge the gap..

  • Sounds like a wonderful journey that you're on. Best wishes.
