This song comes from the acclaimed Taiwanese movie "Cape no.7" (第七封信). Released in August 2008, directed by a broke amateur and a cast of non actors, it won the hearts of millions as it became the second highest grossing film in Taiwan (behind Titanic). It has collected numerous awards.

In a nutshell, this movie is about a down-in-the-luck singer who returns to his hometown and becomes a temporary postman. He finds an undeliverable package containing love letters from a Japanese man to his lover in Taiwan after he left during the "surrender of Japan". More info can be found here:

I put up the whole title. I'm not sure about the 2 different types though...do you mean the instrumental and the actual song with singing? They both are in a different key, and that's all I know.
