Fight Caves Melee Guide

Next time I do it I'll probably just use rapier instead of cls because none of the monsters have high def.
I'll also use tassets and a defender but bring a dfs for jad or the random times when the 180s/90s hit a lot.
If you want to spend some cash for it, overloads will take a couple minutes off of the run compared to extremes and they also allow you to brew anytime without repotting.
Super prayers or super restores are also an option to save some invy space but they aren't necessary at all.

The range gear is just incase I mess up horribly.. it doesn't hurt to take it. Only 3 spaces.



Recommended Levels:
90+ attack/strength/defence/constitution
95+ prayer if you use curses
70+ prayer for old prayers(you'll need to bring extra brews)



Other Notes:
Whip is fine. Rapier or cls is certainly better but whips aren't bad.
I didn't show myself using soul split but I used it on the 90s and 180s in the earlier waves. Excalibur and a couple doses of brew were enough for the last 32 waves.
Make sure to keep mage protect and turmoil on when jad spawns because you're in high range defence gear.


Using this method you should always be able to beat the caves in under 45 minutes while on a slayer task. Ideally it takes 35 minutes but that takes some practice.

Could I do this with the same gear he did except whip instead of rapier, glory instead of fury, and warrior ring instead if zerker? My levels are 86str 84att 77def and 85hp I also can only use piety.

Yes but it would be more difficult, especially at jad. You're probably better off ranging since it's easier and safer unless you have some experience with fight caves.

How much more would torva improve my chances? As well I have a divine should I take that or would it be pointless and take DFS instead?

Torva's lifepoint boost is equivalent to a divine if you are using sara brews(brews heal more with torva = damage reduced with divine). If choosing between divine + bandos or dfs + torva I'd go with torva + dfs.

With torva or a divine it would be significantly harder to die.

is it worth it for me to try melee? I've only ever killed jad once with range, Im lvl 137(138 tomorrow) I just dont have any chaotics or bandos. whip/ovl turm, could borrow claws or something.

If you're doing it for a slayer task or something where you really want to beat it then I'd just range and play it safe. You're high combat so you should be fine meleeing with some practice.

@Omustardo Thanks a lot for the guide, I just killed jad for the first time, accidentally switching most of my brews for extreme defs(Damn jagex and making them look almost exactly the same). Fight took a lot longer than it shouldve due to an unlucky hitting spree, but I beat him at 134 LP left.

Thanks for the info. I'll take full torva with divine and make it much harder for jad to drop me.
