I've tried those positions, but I have a hard time raising the rifle. My target was a little bit highter than me, and I could not bring the rifle that high withouth losing stabillity. I bring my legs so close to me that I feel like I'm gonna roll backwards....
Anyway the positions are good, as long as you are higher than the target.

I'm quite short with a fairly long rifle, I struggle with both positions! Lying on my stomach seems to be the only way that works. Annoyingly.
