I've always thought of evil as sort of the unnatural twisting of good things. After all, God didn't make anything to be evil. It's only evil when it's used for evil by daemons, and by people who've been tempted by them.
I have to say though, that I found this talk of his incredible practical, and I'll have to try some of the things he suggested with compulsions in my own life.

This talk of his has completely floored me. What an amazing way to explain God's divine love at work in everyone's lives

He had a wealth of charisma. Easy to listen to, edifying and inspiring. Wish he was still here today.

Well something like that. The original sin is removed for good (this much is clear from what I've read - only Luther thought otherwise), but the inclination towards evil remains. However, I'm not sure whether it is a part of our nature or is it a result of original sin. Cathen seems to imply the former, and that the original man didn't feel it only by grace. However, I fail to find support for this in offical doctrine - if someone can, please let me know. Btw. concupiscence itself is not a sin

OK, I get your point and I agree with it. Evil was not created, but it is a lack of good. You're right. In terms of Original Sin, Catholic teachings states that humanity was created for good, but then Adam and Eve's disobedience caused for Original to develop. However, each child born is born in original sin, but Baptism is the only way to remove Original Sin. DOn't get confused: it does not remove it for good, but it gives the Catholic the graces to try every day: it's our baptismal call

(cont)Our being able to feel the inclination to sin is a direct result of Original Sin. But Satan couldn't have forced us - we (humans) have chosen sin by our free will.
Since we're discussing concupiscence now: Regardless of whether the inclination was *caused* by sin, or our nature always contained it(I wasn't able to deduce from Catholic teachings for certain, but I think it might even be the latter), we were protected from it (didn't feel it) until the original sin when we wasted that grace.

Yeah, I meant demons. They are also fallen angels, just like Satan. They all tempt us. Now Devil (big d, so Satan) isn't the source of evil. Evil is uncreated - it is rather a lack of good (thus cold and darkness analogies). Because if it were created, it would be created by God, since Satan certainly cannot create (dualism is a belief in an evil god as well, but Satan isn't a god - there's only One). Satan didn't give us concupiscence. (cont.)
