Missile test? Key West, FL new years eve 2008

at sunset on new years eve, 2008. Key West. We think it was a test firing by someone.

Oh, and for those of you too stupid to actually view more than 2 seconds of the video, I WAS IN A BOAT. You can CLEARLY see the water and other boats near us. So stop bitching about the steadiness of the video camera.

Dam your son did a great job on video taping this!!! Near the end when he is zoomed in looks great thanks for posting. I remember when I was 12 and lived in broward county the time was about 4:00 pm I saw something like this traveling south down the coast of Florida.

not a launch, just a jet draggin a pretty good contrail. These things can look like they're standing vertical..straight up because of the shape of the earth, and how long they can get.

Just because it appears to be rising vertically does not mean that it is. Someone viewing it from 10 to 15 miles east or west of the location would simply see a contrail roughly parallel to the earth. It is amazing how people get fooled by sunlit contrails.
