I thought you had to cut (i think) 2" off a D44's long side and run a wrangler axle on that side for in a yota? but there is a couple 44's so I donot know which one. check yotatech or pirate4x4
-
sounds like a good strong setup to me.. for now i will keep running my yota 8" shit untill i breaking axles, then ill ditch it for the D44 or D60. :D

You can find D44's with the pumkin on either side or just flip it and run reverse cut gears. Yeah my Tacoma is a 1999 and I just picked up a D60 from a late modle ford f250 for the frount and a GM 14bolt for out back, so my truck will soon be going under surgery:)

not only do they not match up, the pumpkin is on the wrong side if its a right hard t-case..
if its a nexer taco then you will t\need the left hand d-44

Thanks dude, so far your the first person to reply back to me on that question. I see alot of people running dana44's but everyone says the gears dont match up perfectly with the stock toyota rearends.
wow, have you heard of low gear?but nice rig..

most in oz replace the toyota stuff with nissan patrol diff as they are bigger and stronger but the cv's are the weajk point and you cant buy long fields for them, i say stick to toyota parts they rock
