@bert26a not to be a dick but the " deuce and a half" AKA the MLVW in Canadian army terms actually came with an 8.2 liter GM 4 stroke putting out 165 hp and 400 ft lbs of torque as a former army mechanic i was well aquainted with them. you are right about the MTVL it has a lengthed M113 chasis and up to 400 hp they also made the TLAV which kept the original size and was rated to 300 hp but could be set to 400.

@copperheadmarine Wonder why they didn't use a less costly method, like oh I don't know, a big for sale sticker or something?!

If you had a Canadian Deuce and a half it would come with a 6V53 and Allison Automatic under the hood but the old ten tonners were replaced with a Swiss design back in the '90s. Gotta love all that suspension articulation on those things.

@bert26a really? the military could still get and did use 2 cycle detroits until just a few years ago here..the last ones said MTU on them...they were higher hp than civi's and had higher compression...some 53's had 23:1 compression ratio...OMG the tree huggers would stroke out with all the Nox's produced from that high of compression...No one can tell me what harm they do? Only that they are produced in a diesel....

@copperheadmarine They haven't stopped using 6v53's here the new and rebuilt M113's and a new variant of them called the MTVL are using a electronically turbo charged version of the 6V53 apparently they have over 400 hp. I'll try and find the article if you like?
