Php48, Bipolar is a neurological disease. She's not an attention whore, you ignorant bloke, she's SICK. Would you be this insensitive if she had a deadly physical disease? You really need to stfu and do your research.
Lithium really had the same effect for me- I was walking around in such a sleepy daze. It's so easy for people to say, "You MUST stay compliant with your meds". Well heck, have THEM try your life for a week or so on the meds. However, the effects of not being on meds or potentially dying is much worse. So what I tell myself often is "Would I rather have these side effects or would I rather be dead", which is a sad reality as suicide rates are so high in BP.
How r u doing now a days Jill? Ive loved the bipolar diaries. I have bipolar 2...the negatives are outweighing the positives at the mo. @ kylie i have still had relapses despite taking my medication. I have been diagnosed for 3 years now, but looking back, my bipolar has been evident for about 10 yrs since i was 11. At present, i am sorting out my meds again, now on diazepam, olanzepine and citalopram...and they still arent working...lucky ive got a psychiatrist appointment in a month :)
For me, there is mania that is different than a manic episode. Mania still happens induced by unmanaged stress or adversity despite taking meds. Manic Episodes are more inclined to happen without meds.

Depokote didn't work for me at all. However, lithium, respiradone and abilify all worked wonders.
