This video clip shows a community of cold seep organisms at a site in the Cook Strait, New Zealand. The footage was captured by researchers from the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, New Zealand, and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, US.   • It's crazy how life can thrive in conditions that we would deem inhospitable. We might think we're hot shit, but we have seriously limited capabilities compared to some of these organisms.

  • what's the 10-pointed thing at 3:02? starfish?

  • What is the animal that made the shadow at 2:13? Maybe a puffer fish.. how deep was that vid taken at?

  • Very nice to see there is actually footage of these creatures. If you watch this you can't imagine how special life is. Maybe some day we'll discover something like this on the moon Europa (Jupiter). Think this stuff comes close to what we'll see there if we could explore the moon's ocean.
