Found this snake as I was walking back from flipping debris for snakes and he was just sitting there resting when I walked up on him.

  • Are you,out of youre Vulcan mind thats not a black rat snake black rat snakes are black,I also like how you claim this is a young snake I guess you think it was born 4 foot long lmao

  • This is an intergrated black ratsnake. Black ratsnakes and grey ratsnakes interbreed throughout a huge portion of their range. This is not a pure bred black rat, or a pure bred grey rat, but it certainly has more characteristics of a black rat so that's what I'm going with. You cannot simply judge what species a snake belongs to by its coloration.

This is a sub-adult and is very young. Ratsnakes grow very rapidly and can reach lengths of more than six feet.

  • I can its either black or gray this is gray

  • Black rats and grey rats are not separate species.. They are different subspecies. They breed amongest each other where their ranges come together. They are not simply one ofr the other. End of story.

  • Planning on filming one of these next spring. Such a beautiful species! So much power. Good video!

  • @kjns1 black rat snakes get up to 7 feet long....a 4 foot snake is a young one

  • @Koptok01 Okay you just made yourself look like a jackass. 1. No such thing as a poisonous Snake. Things you eat are poisonous, Things that eat you are Venomous. 2.Many non venomous snakes are very powerful, they can constrict and actually usually have more muscles then non venomous ones do. King snakes which get no bigger then black rat snakes actually eat venomous snakes..

  • @iFeedMyDingoBiscuts me too, not too many snakes up here though

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!

  • grey rat

  • those are the weakest snakes hahaha, they dont even have poison

  • U live in Indiana to? I live in like really north Indiana tho

  • Because the black/gray snakes breed amongst themselves? And they are found all over the place, I have seen a few in my backyard in North Carolina. I caught a small one in my pool, was a really cool snake.
