@kaptinhowdy13 Well, imagine you're a child and you see something that you don't understand, and every time you turn to an adult for help that person just makes it worse. It's actually a hell of a story from a child's point of view, it plays on their fears of being isolated, helpless, and unable to understand the frightening nature of the world, which are the very things that ghost stories are designed to help kids cope with.
