AT CES 2011, LG was demonstrating its HomeBot, a robotic vacuum cleaner that does additional features (more than just cleaning) - it can also work with automatic pet feeder machines to feed your animals. We get a quick demonstration of how it works.

  • Two Questions. 1. How do you guys expect a dog to react and eventually get used to this Robot? 2. Is this designed for people who live in a apartment or perhaps a one-story home or Will this Thing be able to handle stairs?

  • @Dalontai The pets will likely stay away from the thing while it's operating, but once the vacuum goes away and the remote feeder has distributed the food, then the animal will likely go and eat. This doesn't do stairs, so would have to be moved by humans if you wanted to do a second floor.

  • Was the camera man gay ? or just likes close ups of other guys ? -_-

  • @xDontFaintx It's the nature of the camera that we're using, we need the closeups in order to pick up the sound for the microphone. I could pan back but then you'd have to read lips in order to understand what they're saying. Will fix that once we get Flip microphones, then we'll pan out more. :)

  • @xDontFaintx I know - we just wanted to clarify :)

  • 1. Will those cameras be taking pictures of me walking around the kitchen in my underoos and will the be showing up somewhere like on Nancy Grace some day? How can I be certain?

    2. Get a hungry dog to activate the bowl, which activates the vacuum to clean my house....and I will buy one.

  • I want one

  • This vs Samsung NaviBot, which one better?

  • Is it covered in the warrantee if a dog, or cat, mistakes it for its food & eats it? Yes, cat. I keep savage animals-home security purposes. Ever been attacked by a lion?? Didn't think so...

  • Does it do carpets ok? Will it go back to where it left off once the battery needs a charge during operation? Can i operate the camera through a laptop anywhere in the world? If it can do all this then link me to a store please.

  • my dog would probably attack it hell any time i feed her she gets very protective of her food if i try to remove the food she try to bite me

  • and this is how Skynet begins

  • Fail

  • @xDontFaintx ROFL ,LOLEpic win.

  • @FantasyMindedMan you are going to need a robot to train dog to not go for vacuum 1st.

  • What if the dog kills the robot vacuum because it woke him/her up from Sunday nap?

How can the Robo Vacuum feed the dog know?

  • @crmfghtr Umm....wtf r you tlking about most people have dogs, not birds or bunnies.

  • You should incorporate other pets into this, dogs are no longer the number 1 pet in world. Many people leave home with cats, birds etc...

  • I think letting this thing give the dog it's food will destroy it's relationship with the human owners.

  • Looking like freaking ginormous bug, I like it.

  • So getting one when it comes out but I wonder if it louder than Roomba and does it clean as well and how many rooms can it clean and does it recharge itself?

  • That thing looks like a giant tick! creepy but cool technology

  • So, it's already 9 years since i-robot's Roomba and there's still nothing substantially better.

Why the hell would you want to use your phone to make that thing clean your house, or feed your dog? Can't you give it a fixed schedule? Also, what if your dogs knocks it over and starves to death? ^^

  • my dog would eat it
