  • Informative and charming. I have a real passion for the 18th century. From it come my favorite composers (Bach, Mozart, Corelli, etc.), two of my favorite painters (Hogart, Gainsborough), and one my favorite writers, Dr. Samuel Johnson.

When I look at the portraiture of the 1700s, it seems bizarre to think that at one point people (of a certain class) actually conducted their affairs looking so done-up and stylized. "Unnatural" was their ideal. It's all very far removed from today's world...

  • @GMJ7 Thank you. Yes, I find history fascinating too, especially the mindsets of the people - their standards, their fashions, their sense of humor, etc. I like the music of this time too but must admit that I don't know much about Corelli apart from some of his Concerti Grossi. And yes, the extreme formality during some points in history is just fascinating - especially the heightened manners to match the stylized fashions.

  • i wish you was my teacher, i actually really liked your video and learnt something lool.. MORE MORE MORE :)!

  • @lookce Thank you. :) Now I expect a three page essay by Friday . . .

  • @SPimpernel1 haha, could you do more on the history of fashion.. so threw the war or whatever you want :) i love your videos.

  • @lookce I have my next few videos tentatively planned. Another fashion video is on that list, but I am not sure when that will happen. I have some fashion books with stunning pictures that I’d like to show, and some neat facts about corsets, underclothes, and hoopskirts that I’d like to do a video on. So, sometime . . .

  • Yes there are a great deal of weaves haha! I guess they are considered a crazy hair style, not to mention the poof of Snooki from Jersey Shore

  • @SPimpernel1 go for it!

    ;)

  • @SaturnSputnik Thank you. :) I find it interesting that nowadays not many people wear wigs, but a fair number of people wear some kind of weave or hair extension.
